Chris Arnott
Rock / Folk / Experimental
Originally from Sydney's Northern Beaches, Chris Arnott
continues to develop a growing following through his
intimate solo shows around Australia and the world. Melding
an ethereal electric guitar with raw vocal ability that
draws fitting comparisons to Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake and
90s Seattle, his carefully crafted songs play on themes of
love, life and loss with insightful lyrics and catchy
melodies. Although Chris' solo work represents a new
beginning for the 25-year old songwriter, he is no stranger
to the live circuit, having played for years in many bands
and having recorded his first commercial release when he
just 15. The move towards a more thought-provoking,
introspective style of music is an evolutionary step Chris
felt was necessary to connect on a deeper level with his
audience, while allowing him to explore more of his own
influences. Chris is in New York to write his next album,
due for release early 2008. |

As

of the themes of her first album—a search for self with a
renewed sense of hope and a clearer direction of the path
she is taking—it’s clear from the outset that Far Beyond the
Pacific is the work of a more mature and confident musician.
As in her first album, No Perfect Time, in her new album,

Goat
(Andrew Scott
Rosen)
Known to all as
Goat, Andrew Scott Rosen grew up in Cleveland, the son of
baseball great Al Rosen. Goat moved to New York where he
managed to secure spots playing with the likes of Nils
Lofgren, Will Rambeau, Bruce Springsteen and the legendary
Otis Blackwell.
After signing a deal with Interscope, Goat released his
critically-acclaimed debut album "Great Life (Ruffhouse/Columbia)
and, with little support from the label, he scored a hit
with the title track. The song landed in the teen thriller
"I Know What You Did Last Summer," and recently as the theme
for Kia commercials. Goat is currently touring to support
his latest album "Twisted Heart", produced by Mark Biorn
Christensen and engineered by grammy winner Phil Nicolo.
The first single "Two Sides to Love" quickly became the
highest charting independent song of the last year on the
radio format Triple A.
"Devotees of piano-centric rock will get a kick out of Goat.
Merging rough-hewn vocals and consummate keyboard chops, the
man is full of contradictions and surprises. Tonewise, his
initial sonic impression seems dark and cynical, kind of
like an uptown Chris Whitley or downtown Bruce Hornsby. But
deep down, Goat's a cuddly, love-seeking, sentimental fool
with a classic pop craftsman's flair." -Philadelphia Daily News |

With melodic, slightly
off-kilter tunes and a subtle, understated musicality,
Fellaheen carves out a cool piece of aural territory
between Tom Waits, Wilco, and the Beatle-y side of Big
Star. Swooping upright and fretless basses, clink-clank
spooky-toy percussion, and
guitars both sublime and ridiculous intersect to create
an
invigorating, philosophically informed listening
experience.
Bill Holmes at Pop Culture Press writes that "Fellaheen
succeeds in tribal exorcisms, garage-a-delia, and sparse
Americana with equal skill... great imagery alongside
soul-baring episodes, and just the right sense of humor
and the macabre..."
